Summer Playground Program
This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.
Playgrounds for the Summer of 2021 will be run differently than in past years. We have been working hard to create a playground program that will be fun, while keeping the safety and well being of our participants and staff our top priority.
We are excited to offer a FREE, 3 hour Summer Playground program that will run Monday - Friday from 9:00am -12:00pm. Each week, instructors will be at three different playgrounds within Salem to offer traditional crafts, games and activities. Having staff travel to different playgrounds each week, allows us to provide this service throughout our community.
Registration is required for this program. No drop-ins will be allowed. Registration will close at noon on the Thursday prior to the week. This will ensure that all forms are on file prior to the start of the program on each Monday. Each playground is limited to 15 children.
Choose your week(s) and choose your playground.
Sign up for one week or all seven!
Please note that most of these parks do not have a restroom, so please have your child use the bathroom before leaving the house. This program is weather permitting. If we are forced to cancel due to inclement weather, you will be notified by email.
We encourage your child to bring a blanket or towel to sit on each day. This assists us in spreading the group out and allows them to have a spot for their belongings. We also encourage that they bring a water bottle each day.
We ask parents to apply sunscreen to their child each morning before they leave the house. If you are sending spray sunscreen with your child, we ask that you put their name of the bottle. Staff can assist with the spray, but can not apply lotion to your child.
Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services is following all public health guidelines set forth by the state and our local health department with regards to COVID-19.
Parents are required to fill out the attached registration form. If you have filled them out for another 2021 summer program with us, you do not need to fill them out again. We can use what is on file.
- All forms should be returned to email@example.com or mailed/dropped off at our office located at the Community Life Center, 401 Bridge St. at least one week prior to the program.
