Join Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services and Play street hockey during April school Vacation.  No experience required.  We will work of stick handling, passing and shooting. Feel free to bring your own stick or use one of ours.  We suggest that you bring a water bottle. Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the size of this group to 10. This program is weather permitting.Ages: 8-14Dates: Tuesday, April 20th & Wednesday, April 21stTime: 11:00am - 11:45pmLocation: Collins Cove Floor Hockey RinkPrice: $5.00Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services is following all public health guidelines set forth by the state and our local health department with regards to COVID-19.- Participants and instructors must comply with all social distancing requirements.- Face coverings must be worn at all times- Equipment will be sanitized prior to use.- Hand sanitizer will be available.- Each participant is required to have a Daily Health and Wellness form completed prior to each class.  Parents should print this out to use each week.  This form will be turned into Park and Recreation staff at check in.Daily Health and Wellness Form- Parents are required to wear face coverings at drop off and pick up.- Participants should bring their own water bottle- Parents are required to fill out the attached registration form and the COVID-19 waiver form for your child.   These need to be on file prior to the start of the program.  Completed forms should be emailed to kmccarthy@salem.com or dropped off at our office located at 401 Bridge St.  There is a drop box for paperwork located at the front door.  If your child attended a summer program with us and you already filled out these forms, you do not need to do them again.  We can use what is on file.Youth Registration Form         COVID-19 waiver

Lessons for all levels  at the Collins Cove Courts.  Certified Instruction with Sue Carnevale. Participants are encouraged to bring their own paddle, however the instructor will have some loaners available.Ages: 18+Dates:Session One: Wednesdays, May 5th - June 2ndSession Two: Wednesdays, June 16th - July 21st (no class on 6/23)Session Three: Wednesdays, July 28th- August 25thTime: Beginner Class - 9:30-10:30am         Advanced Beginner Class - 10:30-11:30amPrice: $90.00 per 5 week sessionClass DescriptionsAdult Beginner - Learn the basics: rules, scoring, positioning and basic strategies.  Recommended for new players or players who have started playing but lack formal instruction.Adult Advanced Beginner - Learn to develop skills and techniques for all areas of the court.  Some basic previous experience with shots, strokes and scoring knowledge.  Begin to develop transition game.Salem Park, Recreation and Community Services is following all guidelines and restrictions set forth by the state with regards to COVID-19.- social distancing will be enforced- face coverings must be worn- no drop-ins allowed- group size is limited to 8- all participants must show no signs or symptoms of COVID for 14 days prior- all participants must sign and return a COVID waiver.  Waivers should be emailed to kmccarthy@salem.com   COVID Waiver

Salem is now offering the first youth pickleball program on the Northshore and will provide the basics of this life-long activity. Lessons will be designed with fun filled activities for youth ages 10-15 as they learn to play pickleball and gain some fundamental skills of the sport, including forehand and backhand, volley and serve.
